Lull · Guides · Bose Connect for Mac
Is there a Bose Connect app for Mac?
No. Bose Connect, the companion app for the QuietComfort 35 and QC35 II, is published for iPhone and Android only. Bose still updates it for those phones, but there is no Mac version.
What works on a Mac without it
Pair the headphones in System Settings, Bluetooth, and macOS treats them like any Bluetooth headset: audio, the microphone for calls, and the play, pause and volume buttons all work. Settings you make in Bose Connect on your phone, such as what the Action button does, are kept by the headphones, so they still apply when you use them with the Mac.
What's missing
- The battery level, unless the headphones happen to report it to macOS.
- Noise cancelling levels: High, Low and Off.
- Moving the headphones between your devices from one place.
What to use instead
Lull is a small Mac app from Basalt that fills those gaps from the menu bar: a battery ring with low-battery alerts, Off, Low and High in one click, automatic connection, and Send To for handing the headphones to your iPhone.
Keep Bose Connect on your phone for the things Lull deliberately doesn't do, such as firmware updates, voice prompt settings and changing what the Action button does.
Lull is coming soon for macOS 14 or later, at $2.99 for launch. One email on launch day, nothing else.
